Wiki, tickets, chat, and files. Connect read access before you allow edits.
Operations tools are where an assistant stops being a writing partner and starts touching the systems people rely on. A wiki, a ticket tracker, a chat workspace, and a shared drive are the company's memory. A connector that can edit them can also make a mess that looks official, because the change shows up in the tool everyone already trusts.
The listings on this page cover Notion, Atlassian, Slack, Google Workspace, and Zapier. They are not interchangeable. Notion's own README now points people to its hosted server, which can search and edit pages in Markdown and uses each person's existing Notion permissions. The older local server in that GitHub repo is not the one Notion says to use. Atlassian's hosted server can search and also create or update work items and pages across Jira, Confluence, and other Atlassian cloud products.
Chat and email are more sensitive than a project ticket. The community Slack server can read channels, threads, and direct messages that its token can see, including a mode that does not install a Slack app. Posting is off unless you turn it on. The community Google Workspace server is built to work across Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and related apps through the Google account you connect. Treat both as high risk: they can see private conversations and files.
Zapier is the wide door. Its hosted server is designed so an assistant can reach the apps you connect in Zapier, which Zapier describes as thousands of products. One Zapier login can therefore send messages or move data in tools you did not think of as AI products. Connect a narrow Zap, try it on something harmless, and read what it is about to do before you let it run.
A safe pattern is read, then draft, then a person clicks save. Ask the assistant to summarize a page or a ticket and show you the link. Ask it to draft an update in the chat, not to post it. Only after that draft is right should you consider a connection that can write. If your company has an admin for Notion, Atlassian, Slack, or Google, that person should own the connection and know how to disconnect it.
Summaries here come from each project's README as of October 2026. We have not tested them inside a company workspace. Untested means exactly that. It is not a warning that the project is fake, and it is not an endorsement either.
Notion's official hosted MCP server lets an agent search a workspace and read or edit pages as Markdown, using the person's existing Notion permissions. The GitHub project at the source link is a separate local server that Notion says is no longer actively maintained.
Atlassian's official hosted server connects an AI app to Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, Bitbucket, Loom, Compass, and related cloud products. It can search and also create or update work items and pages, using OAuth.
Zapier's official hosted server lets an MCP client use the apps you connect in Zapier. Zapier says that covers thousands of apps, for messages, data, and workflows, without you hosting a server.
A community Slack server that can read channels, threads, and direct messages, with posting turned off unless you enable it. It supports a token mode that does not install a Slack app, and a separate OAuth mode.
A community server for driving Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Tasks, Contacts, and Chat through the Google account you connect. It also includes a command-line tool. It is not Google's own product.
An Anthropic skill for internal writing, with format notes for 3P updates, company newsletters, FAQs, status reports, leadership updates, and incident reports. It loads the matching example before it drafts.

Questions
Which of these can change our wiki or tickets?+–
Notion's hosted server and Atlassian's server can both update content, according to their docs. Start by asking for a summary with a link, and keep write access off until a person reviews the draft.
Is the Slack server an official Slack product?+–
No. It is a community project. It can read direct messages the token can see, and posting is disabled until you enable it. That is a lot of access for a tool Slack itself did not ship.
What does Zapier change about the risk?+–
Zapier can pass an action through to other apps you have connected. The risk is the width of that connection, not only the chat window you are typing in.
Do I have to use the terminal?+–
Notion, Atlassian, and Zapier document hosted addresses you paste into an AI app. The Google Workspace and Slack servers are programs you run, which is the terminal level on this site.
