Read the queue with care. Treat anything that can reply to a customer as a send button.
Support conversations are private, and they are often the place a customer is already frustrated. An assistant that can search those conversations can save a person from clicking through a long thread. An assistant that can reply, tag, or close a ticket can also speak for the company. Those are different permissions, and the products on this page do not all offer the same ones.
Intercom's official server is a hosted connection for US workspaces. The documentation in Intercom's repository describes six tools, all of them for finding and reading conversations and contacts. It does not, in that tool list, describe sending a reply. Plain's official server is different: Plain documents about thirty tools, including replies, assignment, snooze, labels, internal notes, and help-center edits. A reply sent through Plain shows up as the person who connected the account.
Freshdesk's server is hosted by Freshworks on your own Freshdesk address and signs in with an API key. Freshworks' help article describes ticket and conversation tools, contacts, and knowledge-base articles, including the ability to create tickets, notes, and articles. Gorgias announced a first-party server in open beta. The announcement says reads are live, and that some writes, including macro edits and AI agent configuration, are still gated. It also says the connection is included with any Gorgias plan. The announcement we used does not publish a server address, so this listing does not invent one.
Help Scout does not appear here as an official Help Scout product. The listing is a community server that can search conversations, customers, and Help Scout Docs. Its README says write actions, such as draft replies, notes, tags, and assignment, are off unless you opt in. That default is the one to keep until you have a reason to change it. Zendesk documents an MCP client, so Zendesk can call other servers. This directory does not list an official Zendesk MCP server, because Zendesk's own help pages we checked do not confirm one.
The working habit is draft, then send. Ask for a summary of a thread and the customer's last question. Ask for a reply you can edit. Do not connect a personal chatbot account to the company inbox unless the person who administers that inbox agrees and can revoke it. Support data is also a poor place to experiment with a tool you found five minutes ago.
Summaries were taken from each vendor's docs or the community README in October 2026. Nothing here has been run against a live inbox by SkillsByRole. There is no ranking of which helpdesk is better, and no claim about how many teams use these connectors.
Intercom's hosted server lets an agent search and fetch conversations and contacts in a US workspace. The repository documents six tools, all of them for finding and reading, using OAuth or a bearer token.
Freshworks hosts an MCP server on your Freshdesk address so an AI app can work with tickets, contacts, and the knowledge base using an API key. Freshworks' help article includes create actions for tickets, notes, and solution articles.
A community server for Help Scout that searches conversations, customers, organizations, reports, and Docs. Write actions such as replies, notes, tags, and assignment exist but stay off unless you opt in.
Gorgias announced a first-party MCP server in open beta that reads helpdesk data from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other MCP clients. The announcement says some writes, including macro edits and AI agent configuration, are still gated.
Plain's hosted server connects an MCP client to a Plain workspace with about thirty tools, including replies and thread updates. You sign in with your Plain user, so actions carry that person's permissions.

Questions
Which of these can answer a customer without me?+–
Plain documents a reply tool. Freshdesk documents notes and ticket creation. Help Scout's community server can draft replies only if you turn writes on. Intercom's published tool list is search and fetch. Gorgias says some writes are still gated during its beta. Read the listing before you connect.
Why is there no official Zendesk server?+–
Zendesk's help center documents an MCP client that connects Zendesk to other servers. We did not find an official Zendesk-hosted MCP server to list. We are not going to guess one into the directory.
Is the Help Scout listing made by Help Scout?+–
No. It is a community project with an MIT license. Help Scout has to be your helpdesk already, because the server uses Help Scout app credentials.
What is a reasonable first prompt?+–
Ask it to list your open conversations and summarize one thread you already know, with a link back to the ticket. Do not ask it to send a reply on the first session.
